Dog-ma: The Zen Of Slobber {book giveaway}

Dog-Ma The Zen Of slobber
Today's giveaway is courtesy of author Barbara Boswell Brunner who is giving away a digital copy of her book Dog-ma: The Zen Of Slobber to one lucky reader of this blog.

About Dog-ma: The Zen Of Slobber

Barbara grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with her parents, sister and always a dog, or two or three. When Barbara meets her future husband, Ray, it is love-and-dog at first sight. Over the course of thirty-two years, seventies relocations and nine dogs, their mutual love of dogs guides them on their unconventional path. The love that Barbara and Ray get in return is literally lifesaving, with one dog attacking a lethal intruder and another discovering Barbara's cancer. Her own survival story underscores the story of how her dogs become survivors themselves.

Each new dog adds a new dynamic to the family, sometimes upending it. From Turbo (whose Spock-like ears may have provided super powers), Barbara learns about the will to live; Lexington demonstrates incredible patience and an inexplicable love of golf; Madison teaches that laughter is truly the best medicine and that the whole "nine lives thing" is not reserved just for cats; Morgan should be sainted for tolerating Izzy, who is as cute as she is bad.

Dog-ma: The Zen Of Slobber will inspire you with the couple's unstinting love, devotion, and respect for dogs as family members. You'll be glad to include it in your treasured collection of great dog books.

I would love to win this book. I was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago. During my first trials with chemotherapy, my neighbors bought me a yellow lab puppy, hoping that his sweet enthusiasm and joyfulness would help me get throught the rough times. I named him Tango. To this day, Tango is my companion, my partner in crime, my protector, and my best friend. I have since been ,arried and had a child. Tango has made sure to protect and love each of us. I joke with people and tell them he is like one of my children, but sometimes I think it's the other way around and that Tango treats us and cares for us like we are HIS children.

I am interested in winning this book because I LOVE dogs. I have always had at a minimum one dog in my life at all times. Currently I have 5 kids and 3 dogs! So, more like 8 kids. My "human" children always tease me that I love the dogs more than them. I always tell them the dogs don't talk back and just give me love! Our house includes a rowdy pack of dogs including a 19 yr old beagle, a 6 yr old chihuahua, and a 3 yr old cockapoo. Kind of a strange combination but I love them all. Thanks for the giveaway! sbereza22(at) gmail (dot) com

And there is also two cats in our home as well. A 13 year old orange tabby and his sister a 13 year old solid black cat with green eyes.

I would love to read this book. I, like most people here, am a true dog lover. My little "girl" is so great. She gives me a kiss as I leave for work...and is waiting by the window when I come home for work....and most importantly, she keeps my 81 year old mother company while I'm at work (the same woman who said she didn't want a dog...now asks the dog if she wants to take a nap in bed with her!!).

She is truly a member of our family. I grew up with dogs...and will always have one.

Hope I win!
Debby

I'd like to win this because I love to read & I love dogs.So having my two faves in one is a double treat.I've always had a dog growing up.My daughter has 3 of them.1 she's had since he was a puppy,1 she was fostering and her fiance fell in love with her so they kept her.One was dumped in their neighborhood and he went to their house.When he opened the door there was this cute little dog sitting on their doorstep.He had a chip so they went over to where the dog belonged and they didn't want it.So I told my daughter that they were meant to have him.He's the sweetest and mellowest dog.I've always lived in an apt so I knew when my daughter grew up she'd have dogs and cats(1).I told her God blessed her with them to make up for the ones she couldn't have when she was little.Thank you for the awesome giveaway! :)
